2018 Melbourne Cup Luncheon
Glenray hosted its second annual Melbourne Cup Luncheon at Rydges Mount Panorama on Tuesday 6thNovember. Despite the damp conditions at the track in Melbourne the guests enjoyed beautiful weather with magnificent views over Mount Panorama racing track.
Fresh from success at the Carillon Business Awards where Glenray won Employer of Choice and Excellence in Not for Profit, a magnificent day of entertainment was had by over 180 guests. An amazing three course lunch accompanied by local wines topped off the day. You could be forgiven for thinking you were trackside at Flemington as the award for best dressed came down to a photo finish.
Hosted by Paralympian and ambassador for Glenray, Janelle Lindsay, and with Jana Pittman as our guest speaker, the crowd were intrigued by stories of triumph in challenging times which sit close to heart given the year that Glenray has experienced. Jana was inspirational as she spoke of the blessings and achievements that she has accomplished during times of loss and disappointment.
There was no false start when it came to donating on the day, in addition, to the donation that was included in the ticket price, guests were given the opportunity to donate via a Calcutta, Silent Auction, Sweeps, and a lucky dip. Glenray are extremely grateful with the generosity of everyone who attended, businesses who were sponsors and those who donated prizes, special thanks to Bowood Constructions for being our major sponsor.
The money raised will be used in the rebuild of Glenray’s new laundry for the supported employees to enjoy a fully equipped kitchen.
Glenray look forward to hosting an even bigger event next year in 2019.
