Central West, Australia – 17/02/2025 - Glenray, a registered NDIS provider with over 65 years of experience in offering comprehensive disability support services throughout the Central West region, is proud to announce the launch of its new GAP Year Program. This innovative program is designed specifically for young people finishing Year 12, aiming to empower them to learn valuable skills while gaining hands-on experience, all while earning an award wage.

The GAP Year Program is a 12-month initiative that provides young people with comprehensive foundational training, including first aid, medication, conflict resolution through to completing a Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability). This program not only equips young people with the necessary skills and knowledge to thrive in the disability support industry but also offers them the chance to earn award based income during their gap year.

" We're excited to introduce this program as a way to provide opportunities for young people," said Kath Graham, General Manager of Glenray. "Our new GAP Year Program is providing opportunities for young people to gain practical experience and develop essential skills. It is an investment in the future of young people and the future of the care sector as a whole. "

The program's first cohort of four new recruits will embark on their journey of professional growth, supported by Glenray's experienced team of disability support professionals. Through a combination of classroom-based training and hands-on experience, the participants will gain a deep understanding of the disability support industry, learn how to provide high-quality care and assistance, and develop valuable communication and problem-solving skills.
